Our projects

Our vision for the future centres on creating a world where all disabled people can reach their full potential. To make this vision a reality, our projects focus on five key ambitions. Each project reflects our commitment to breaking down barriers, providing support, and fostering inclusive sporting environments for all.

Ambition 1: Inspire and Educate

  • We’re developing resources for primary schools across England and Wales to raise awareness raise awareness and educate pupils about diversity and disability, utilising disability and inclusive sport as the vehicle. We want all young disabled people to feel valued by their peers and inspired to be active.

Through this project, we’ll provide schools with tools to engage students with real stories from inspirational disabled athletes. We’ll also connect young disabled people with opportunities within their communities, backed by our dedicated task force who will offer advice on best practices for inclusive physical education and sport in schools.

Ambition 2: Provide a person centred approach

  • Building on the success of the Nissan Possibilities Project, we’re expanding our reach to help more disabled people from underrepresented communities access support to help them achieve their sporting ambitions. This includes specialist equipment, personalised mentoring, and guidance towards achieving their goals.

  • Our mentoring programme, led by disabled people for disabled people, will create a supportive network of peers who help each other overcome barriers. This community of mentors and mentees will empower one another, building resilience and driving positive change.

Ambition 3: Create inclusive communities

  • We are overcoming barriers to mass participation sports events through a collaborative approach with event organisers. To make sure everyone feels supported, we’re offering trained support runners who can guide and support individuals who request assistance to take part. This project reaffirms that community sports are for everyone, regardless of ability.

  • We organise an annual, inclusive, fundraising event called ‘Run with Rich’ where everyone is encouraged to take part their way and at their own pace.

Ambition 4: Create sustainable change through improved representation

  • We are committed to uplifting disabled voices at every level of our organisation - whether as Board Trustees, mentors, volunteers, or Ambassadors. By equipping our team with skills, resources, and opportunities, we create an empowered community that reflects our mission.

Ambition 5: Influencing change and increasing public awareness

  • Through our platform, we highlight the barriers that disabled people encounter in accessing sport and physical activity and shine the light on solutions.

We’re committed to sharing the stories of those we’ve supported, using real-life case studies. By amplifying their voices and sharing the impact of our work, we aim to increase awareness, influence broader change and inspire initiatives that benefit the disabled community on a larger scale.
