Supported Runner project in partnership with Nissan launched

A group of runners and support runners celebrated finishing the Great North Run alongside Richard Whitehead and Dadiva, a young wheelchair user.

We were excited to officially launch our new Supported Runner project on Friday 8th September, just ahead of the Great North Run. The programme is being provided in partnership with Nissan and will be working closely with the Great Run Series.

As part of the launch, Nissan produced and released a video, featuring Richard Whitehead explaining about the opportunities the programme will provide and the importance of it to disabled people.

In addition, Richard and the foundation were featured in a press release, which explained the need for the programme and how it can support people. The press release resulted in a number of articles appearing on some main newspaper outlets, including the Express, the Daily Star, the Sun and the Mirror; as well as many online newspapers from Hull to Essex.

For more information on the programme and how to get involved, please visit our dedicated page.
